Sira Ladi

Sira Ladi is an incense altar made up of three elements: a perforated chimney surmounting a drawer for combustion, and two brass-inlaid benches. Their arrangement creates a shared space, an invitation to sit, slow down, and let the scent settle.

The piece is a tribute to AlUla’s historic role as a stop on the Incense Road: a place of passage, rest, and exchange between civilisations. The brass inlays evoke the traces left by centuries of trade and encounter. Designed during a residency in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, Sira Ladi gives form to an intimate and ritualistic gesture, universal in its simplicity.
