Yelen

Yelen celebrates inner light, that discreet force which is only fully revealed in darkness. Its interplay of brass and reflected light embodies that glow which guides and unites, even in the darkest moments. The light source, concealed within the structure, does not impose itself: it emerges.

Designed and unveiled for the Dakar Biennale of Contemporary African Art 2024, which marked the return of design after a sixteen-year absence, Yelen belongs to a series of pieces conceived as physical metaphors for abstract concepts, an approach that engages design beyond function, in the realm of narrative.
